Just Sittin' In My Big Boy Carseat, How About You?

The guys have nearly outgrown their infant carseats. Milo is thisclose to the weight limit, 22 lbs, and they both just look a little mushed in there. So the guys graduated to their big boy carseats!
Just for reference here is a photo of the boys in their carseats at one month old.

Ever Had Your Hair Done By A Moo-Cow?

Dahling, if you have the means, you really must have your hair done by a little moo-cow. It is an experience not to be missed.

Levi, our moo-cow, had another first yesterday. He rode in the shopping cart at Trader Joe's like a BIG boy! No babies here who need their portable car seats... nope. Nobody here but us grown up moo-cows.
PS - Thanks for the cute cow outfit (a "cowtfit") Gramma Carol.

My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboy (Boots)

The guys have been doing a little sh*t kicking in their new cowboy boots from Kay and Gary Feldmar. TheFeldmars are old friends of the family and are getting the guys off to the right start - footwise.

Apparently, Dave used to wear his cowboy boots and his fireman's hat all the time when he was a little boy. All we need are the fireman's hat now!

Gramma And Grampa Lake Visit!

Gramma Ellin and Grampa Michael have been visiting us for the past few days. We've had such fun. We've gone to Swanson's Fall Festival, had a few twin playdates, played games (toys hide and go seek is a big hit!), and had loads of kisses.

Ten Twins Waiting For The Great Pumpkin

We had a little twins meet up at Swanson's for their Fall Festival today. There was a hay maze and giant pumpkins to look at. But mostly there were 10 sweet little ones to play with! Milo had his special occasion fall outfit on today from Gramma Carol. It is so cute I kind of want to throw up.
If we had a third little boy we'd want him to be just like Ben. Don't you think he fits in really well? I mean... other than the fact that under that adorable hat is an adorable head full of strawberry blond hair... other than that he fits in with our guys. And you can tell how much Levi loves him - with his hand resting on his knee.
Milo was born ready for his close-up.

Don't be sad! The Great Pumpkin will come and visit all the good little boys in Seattle!

Super Swinging Siblings!

Sunday was a beautiful day here in Seattle. So we met some friends at the swing set at Ravenna Park and we swung the afternoon away. The guys are still small enough that they share one bucket swing - fitting in back to back. They really seem to enjoy swinging - even though Milo does not quite know what to make of it. Anyhow, them sharing a swing is quite a sight to see!

The Tale Of Milo And The Mysterious, Perfect, Euro Pacifier!

Once upon a time there were twin boys born in Seattle. Their friends from all over the land came and showered gifts upon the boys as a welcome to the world. There were many wonderful and fantastic gifts ... swings, books, handmade wooden cradles, monkey lovies, lullaby music, and more! After a few months the Mommy noticed a seemingly unassuming pacifier sitting in a pile of hand-me-down toys and clothing. The Mommy washed it and offered it to her firstborn, Milo, since he had not yet come to love any particular pacifier. It was kismet. Karma. The Missing Piece. Milo's life, at such an early age, had become completely complete. The mystery pacifier was his constant companion. It helped him sleep through his first nights. It accompanied him on car-rides. It comforted him when Mommy had to go to work. He loved it.

Mommy decided to try to find another one of these mysterious perfect pacifiers. None of the generous friends could claim having gifted this magical gift. She looked all over online, ordering some which looked similar. But when they arrived it was apparent to both the boys that these were different. And not as good. They went unused. The Mommy called the Chicco, the Manufacturer, and was told that this pacifier was not available in the United States. Only in Italy! The Mommy tried to call Italy but didn't reach anyone. Dead end.

The Mommy became ever stronger in her commitment to buy more of these pacifiers for her eldest (by one minute) son. Buying dozens of different pacifiers for him to sample - but none would do. She looked online: Ebay Italy, Ebay UK, Ebay Australia, Amazon UK and more! But the Mommy was stymied. Instead of finding more pacifiers she dedicated herself to NOT LOSING THIS PACIFIER. She tethered the perfect mysterious pacifier to Milo's clothing. the Mommy was ever-vigilant. It was exhausting for everyone involved, including her friends!

Then one day Grampa Lenny came to visit and said "Let me try". More magical words were never spoken. He collected information from the perfect mysterious pacifier and *poof* the next thing we knew, well, after Italy's month long August vacation was over, we were delivered a box so special it glowed gold on our doorstop.

Behold! Milo is wanting no more! A happier baby is not to be seen! Hooray Len, Dragonslayer!

Levi's Got His Head In The Clouds

Levi has always been fascinated by the hot-air balloon mobile over their changing table. That is the its whole reason for living, I guess. And now that he can stand anywhere he likes, with only a little help, he gets to grab for the balloons! It is so cute...

Levi "Says" His First "Word"

We've been taking baby ASL classes for a few weeks now. We have an in-home instructor who teaches the class at a friend's house. We've been concentrating on a few key posts: milk, more, food, change, bed, home, and a few others.

This morning, for the first time, Levi finished his bottle and made eye contact with me and very clearly asked for milk. I went and got the video camera and the milk. I made this little video and then he got his milk! Which he was hungry for. It is amazing that he has communicated with me what he wants using ASL!

Levi says 'milk' by opening and closing his right hand.
