We Love Gymboree

Gymboree has changed Milo's life. We have gone twice now and he has subsequently discovered how fun it is to stand! In fact, the day after their class this week Milo pulled himself up on the table AND let go. Levi loves it too... but he already uses the whole house as his gym (standing in his crib, jumping on Manny, cruising the wall, getting Dave a beer from the 'fridge). So, though it is super extra fun for Levi, it has been transformative for Milo. We even ran into OG BFF Gavin there this week! Hooray Gymboree!

Our Uncle Don(ny) sent along this photo of two little girls who have been missing for over 30 years. If you see them please alert uncle Don(ny).

Story Time With Daddy

Daddy and Milo reading a special board book.

The guys love to have books read to them. They have two shelves full of books and they crawl over to the bookshelf and full them off in hand fulls. Even more than hearing a story, they like to ear them. Yum!

Levi prefers to EAT his literature.

Back in Bath

Sometimes a boy has got to have a bath. And when that boy looks like this a Mommy has to take a photo. And when a photo is this cute the photo has got to get published on the blog.
Forgive me, Mishy.

More Boys in Boxes

Dave sent me some lovely flowers for my birthday (I KNOW!) and the box they came in is a hit in the house.

A Little Perspective: Bouncy Seat Edition

This was taken not long after the boys came home. they might have been one week old. They are sitting by the window in this photo so Milo could get a little sun to help his jaundice go away. Anyhow, the boys used to spend a lot of time in these... they had acid reflux and could not sleep in their crib since it was flat. The angle of the bouncy seat was one of the only things that helped them.

Elizabeth took this one of Milo when she was visiting during her on her birthday (May) 08.

And I took this yesterday... the boys' bouncy seats are leaving the house and I put Milo in it to say goodbye. He absolutely manhandled it - practically got up and scooted away with the seat on his back like a hermit crab. The blur is his hands waving.

The Aquarium!

We visited the aquarium this weekend with Gramma Ellin and Grampa Michael. The guys loved the visit, especially this wall of fish!

We Are ELEVEN Months Old Today!

The guys have had a big B I G growth spurt in the last month. They have learned to pull themselves up on: Daddy, Mommy, footstools, chihuahuas, chairs, tables, and couches. Well, Levi has done all that... Milo pulls himself up on footstools.

They also are getting totally OVER being spoon fed. They really prefer to feed themselves: cheerios, baby mum-mmmms, sweet potato cubes, crackers, etc.

And, as you might have seen in the videos we posted recently, they've gotten really good at cracking each other up.

Levi has discovered and mastered clapping. And drooling. And high-fiving. Which is adorable since, to him, high-fiving is just like clapping... only with my hand in between. I wonder when he'll figure out that you only high five with ONE hand.

Milo has developed a new happy-face. When he gets really happy he pulls an adorable face scrunch. I'll try to get it on camera.

Milo has moved on to size five diapers... and Levi is along for the ride. We could still fit in size fours, but I don't want to have two size diapers for the two guys. We are a one size fits all house!

Oh, and they have both had their first matzo ball soup. It is the small things.

It's A Gas

Last week in Whidbey Island we visited the Star Store in Langley. Dave and Benny discovered that Levi loves loves L O V E S whoopie cushions. This shoots my theory that, contrary to what Dave believes, farts are not funny. Levi's belly laugh proves that all boys think that all gas is funny. Naturally, Uncle Benny and Auntie KJ could not let the guys leave the store without the toy.

Dave, No. This does not mean you can fart on their heads.

New Years - Whidbey Island Style

After being snowed in for the first part of our roadtrip in the Seattle Snowpocalypse (tm) we finally made it to Useless Bay on Whidbey Island on Dec 27th. Whidbey Island in the winter is really cool. We've had big wind storms every morning and it usually calms down in the afternoon. During sunrise, which you see a lot when you have twins, I've learned, the logs redistribute themselves all over the coastline. It is great to see the zombies floating in en masse.

The guys sitting on their improvised high chairs (I know - it is practically illegal to put Bumbos on raised surfaces, but we've never gotten more than ten inches from them while sitting here). Useless Bay is in the background.

Levi was utterly thrilled with the menu at the Mad Crab in Coupland.

Milo and Mommy doing a little snuggling at Mad Crab.

The guys were real champs at a long lunch at Mad Crab. You can see the Coupland pier in the background. They didn't have any Penn Cove mussels this time. Next time, though.
Levi watching the zombie logs rolling in at dawn.

During this trip the guys have learned a LOT. For instance, both guys pulled themselves up on this stair within three minutes. Also, Levi has begun babbling. He waited and waited to start and now has more new consonants than Milo does.
