Magic Hour

There are only a few rules in our backyard: do not eat Manny's poop, do not tip over Mommy's potted herbs, do not pull hair (this is just a rule which needs restating all the time), and do not climb the cement stairs to rattle the rusted wire gate with sharp rusty wires sticking out. Which is why the boys were SO excited when I let them rattle away so I could get the following shots.
Milo: " Am I getting away with this? Really? AWESOME!"Milo: "LEVI!! Come over here! We are totally getting away with this!"

Levi: "OK! I'm on the way... don't rattle it all... save some rusty-wire-gate-rattling for me!"

Milo: "Wow, Mommy. Its like a whole new you. I don't even know who you are anymore..."
Levi: "Did you see those things on the ground? They move when we move, rattle the gate when we rattle the gate, wow..."

Beach Boys

We visited Matthew's Beach park again this weekend. The weather was lovely and the water had warmed up enough to allow for the boys to.... TOUCH THE WATER! Enjoy the images of their first real encounter with the beach.

They got utterly soaked and covered in sand. It was the world's best water table! Good thing we have tiny bathing suits handed down to us from Gavin.

Other notable things this week:

- Milo knows where his toes are. And your toes. We discovered this when I asked Milo if he wanted toast and he laughed and pointed to his feet.

- The boys really like spicy food. They rebelled against bland potatoes and toast and I, frustrated, put spicy black beans and SoyRizo on their trays. And they loved it!

- I have discovered a deep and lasting love for baking muffins. We've had several batches lately, but the best is this Morning Glory recipe. I swapped the white flour for whole wheat, and cut the sugar in half. Next time I'll add some shredded zucchini and some chopped dates.

- No more bottles! We finally made the switch to sippy cups. Yay!

- The boys have been watching Michael Jackson videos all weekend with us. Milo's favorite is Billie Jean from Mowtown 25 and Levi likes Workin Day and Night (there are so many endings to this performance even Michael gets confused!).

A Trip to Magnussen Park

We all had a little coffee before we headed off to Magnussen Park.

There was a Humane Society adopt-a-thon going on at the park... we very nearly came home with a five year old Beagle named Beau.

On The Move

Here is a list, in no particular order, of the boys' favorite things this month: Stairs, lights (any kind of light at all), aiplanes, stairs, Mommy, swinging, pulling hair, reading books, stairs, and Daddy.

15 Month Old Check Up

We took the boys to their 15 month checkup today. Ok, we were a little late late on this one. Shut up! You try raising twins! Ahem... anyhow.

All anyone wants are the details and photos, so I'll quit the editorializing and get down to biznatch.

Milo
Weight: 25 lbs (50th percentile)
Length: 313/4 inches (50- 75th percentile)
Head circumference: 47.8 cm (50 - 75th percentile)

Levi

Weight: 23.15 lbs (25- 50th percentile)

Length: 31 inches (25- 50th percentile)

Head circumference: 47 cm (25- 50th percentile)

They were champs even though they got two shots today! They got chicken pox and the DTAP vaccines.

The doc said they were growing really well. He watched them walk and said they were walking just right. Milo's bow legs will probably straighten out over a few years. And there is even a pretty good chance that their outie belly buttons (caused by small umbilical hernias) will turn into innies.
